14.11.2025 - 23.11.2025 From November 14 to 23, 2025, from 11:00 to 17:00, the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will traditionally host an exhibition of Indian chrysanthemums "Flower of the Sun" in the exhibition pavilion! When the gardens outside the windows are immersed in the restrained palette of late autumn, a real riot of colors unfolds at our exhibition — a collection of magnificent Indian chrysanthemums reigns here. These thermophilic plants, whose peak flowering occurs in October–December, can reveal themselves in all their glory in Belarus only under the protection of a greenhouse. Indian chrysanthemum is the epitome of sophistication: sophistication and extravagance, style and originality are harmoniously intertwined in it. At the exhibition you will see about 100 varieties of Indian chrysanthemums-a real journey through a variety of shapes and shades.: Simple chamomile-like (Aglow, Biarrita, Solo) - conciseness and charm. Multi-petalled pompoms (Bigoudi, Gazelle, Tom Pearse) - splendor and volume. Large-flowered giants (Rossano, Tyla) have impressive inflorescences. Mid-flowered elegance (Parisienne) - harmony and splendor. Small-flowered miniatures (Froggy Green) - refined tenderness. Rare spider-like varieties (Purple Moon, Luyona, Spider) are bizarre exotics. The color palette is amazing: from delicate yellow and snow-white to passionate red, juicy orange, mysterious purple and even unusual green! The exhibition presents: varieties of modern Dutch breeding, familiar to us from flower shops; retro varieties from the 50s and 60s of the XX century-English and French, captivating with their refinement of forms; new items with unusual colors and impressive shapes: Suntosh Violet, Cosmo White, Juasmara Rose. The chrysanthemum is a symbol with a long history. Although it does not grow in the nature of Japan, it was this country that adopted the plant as its own: It was imported from China in the 8th century and became a symbol of longevity. The ichimonji type has established itself as the official coat of arms of the Japanese royal family. Until the 19th century, the image of a flower was allowed only on imperial paraphernalia — as a sign of power and honor. In the USA, the chrysanthemum represents friendship and strong bonds. Japan and China are still arguing about which country should truly consider itself the true homeland of this amazing plant. The exhibition will feature a curatorial hour, a deep dive into the world of chrysanthemums. You will be able to find out: features of varieties; secrets of winter care; agrotechnics at different stages of plant life; interesting facts from the history of the flower. This is a monochrome black ink painting from students of the Art Studio at the NGO "Hagakure". These magnificent works, reminiscent of watercolor, will be a harmonious addition to the color symphony.
