Council of Young Scientists

We are glad to welcome you on the page of the Council of Young Scientists of the State Scientific Institution "Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus"!

The Board includes graduate students and researchers of the institution under the age of 35.

The Bureau of the Council of Young Scientists is elected by an open majority vote at the general meeting of young scientists.

From March 18, 2025 The Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists is a Ekaterina Anatolyevna Lapchenko, a research associate at the laboratory of applied biochemistry.

The Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists coordinates the scientific, organizational and public work of the Council.

As of 04/01/2025, the Council of Young Scientists includes 36 members, including  5 postgraduate students and 4 master's student.

THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE COUNCIL OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS ARE:

• assistance to the development of scientific and creative activity of young scientists of the Central Botanical Garden;
• assistance to the early professional growth of scientific youth and specialists of the Central Botanical Garden;
• assistance in securing young scientific staff in our institution;
• encouragement and promotion of scientific achievements of young scientists;
• organization of information support on vacancies, foundations, grants, conferences, schools and other events to support scientific youth;
• acting as a representative body and protecting the rights of scientific youth at meetings of the academic council and the directorate of the institution;
• expressing the opinion of scientific youth on various aspects of professional activity and social and living conditions;
• representing the interests of young scientists in improving working, living and leisure conditions;
• organization of scientific conferences, scientific and practical seminars, scientific forums, lecture cycles by leading scientists, symposiums, round tables, schools by young scientists and specialists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, as well as with their participation.

The Council of Young Scientists, together with the trade union committee, organizes a number of events: the organization of recreation evenings, sports events, as well as charity events.
